Kim and i went to sushi with The Boy for his birthday, and, as a former shunner of sushi, i must extol the virtue of maguro tataki. Spare me your "wasabi" and your vinegary rice and your sweet sauces... but pass the maguro. After dinner, Kim and i came home and drugged the dog (he's gunshy), and i put the half-bottle of 1997 Cordier (Flash) Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauternes into the fridge. At midnight, we had some. The stuff is great, and it's a much better value than Château d'Yquem (but then, d'Yquem is d'Yquem).
