New CDs:
- Peach, Giving Birth To a Stone - Peach is Justin "Tool's bassist" Chancellor's old band. GBTaS is a good record, proggish but not bombastic (unlike, say, Dream Theater). It doesn't sound like Tool, really, except for "You Lied" (and that might be because i first heard Tool's cover on Salival). Their cover of "Cat Food" is spot-on.
- Patty Larkin, Red = Luck - Her latest is more of the beauty you expect from Patty. She's a great example of how rare it is for someone to create beautiful music that comes from joy instead of strife.
- Duke Ellington, The Far East Suite (Special Mix) - This record is superb. It is astonishing. It is alive. "Amad" is my new favorite song. You should buy this CD right now.
