When your boss tells you, in so many words, that you should consider seeking alternative employment because he doesn't know where the company's going, why, it makes you want to drink youself into a goddamn stupor.  SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO... HEY, IS IT A CRIME AGAINST DECENCY TO PUT CUBAN RUM IN DR PEPPER?  I NEED TO KNOW FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT.

That actually sounds like an interesting drink. Bring them over to Thinktank tomorrow night and ve shall conhduct ze exhpermintsh.

Also, you should see about getting a fortuneteller to identify the asshole who cursed you into unstable employment, and give him ten paces at dawn and then shoot at 8. Srsly.

Fuck, man. I'm in the midst of changing jobs, but... geez.

eFORCE is a provider of professional eBusiness services with a focus on RoI.

Now I'm a hippie peacenik Web2.0naut, so I'm used to swimming in the bullshit trench - but even given that *what the hell does that mean*?

Here's hoping for fair winds. Thinking of you guys.

Mixing good rum with anything but your own good tastebuds is a crime against decency. That said, if it keeps you employed and liquored up, go for it.

Good luck, man!

I believe you... calimocho is extremely popular in China, too (though not by that name). So popular, in fact, that many stores sell the ingredients as a bundle; you see bottles of red wine lining the shelves with cans of Coke taped to them.

I also believe very firmly in the Holy Bible... believe it or not, I actually SAW one once in a motel room!

Well, if it isn't a crime against decency, find something else to do that is. You need something. SWMBO recommends Blue Curacao and Orange Crush.

I really miss

I'm actually rather fond of Myers's dark rum and Dr. Pepper. It is a weakness. Also, I have a recipe for rum pie (http://tarian.livejournal.com/100580.html) that's quite good.

good luck with the employment thing. Jobs are highly useful for buying moar rum.

Myer's Dark and Cherry Coke, for me. I don't normally even like Cherry Coke, or cherry things in general, but it works so nicely with the rum.

Dr Pepper should work in a similar fashion. Perhaps the next time I go to the boozeteria I will fetch such things...

We just got an email from the UC college of the president saying that if the budget doesn't pass, Schwarzenegger is signing a bill setting all state employees to FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE. That is, 6.55/hour.

I am a state employee. It is to weep.

Does he include himself as a state employee? Just Curious, Don'tcha Know.

Of course, one of the planks in his election campaign was "I have plenty of money! So I can't be bought." Which made me giggle and giggle.

You should explain to your management that failure to support the Glorious Economic Total Victory over the Vile Clinton-Gore Recession is a core part of why our Victorious Glorious Troops Are GLORIOUSLY VICTOIROUS on the Eastern Front, and that Doubters may be in direct violation of the secret laws against Rumour Mongering And Defeatism!!!

And then tell them, "Or the Enemy Wins!!!" which is the most important thing you can bring up in a technical conversation about the economy and why things have never been greater than they are now...

Because of Course Greatness Is GREAT!!!

Thank GOD! We Have RoboBushCheney!!!

Yep, federal minimum. Here's what it said:

"You may have read recently that Governor Schwarzenegger is considering an
executive order that would reduce the pay of state workers to the federal
minimum wage until a state budget is approved. A number of news articles
published in the past few days report the order would call for full
salaries to be paid retroactively after budget approval. It is anticipated
that the Governor may sign the order on Monday."

Is it good Cuban rum (as in "would you pour a dram and gently sip it, as-is, watching the sunset, maybe puffing on a cigar")? If so, possibly. Otherwise, I say go ahead.

But, then, the only decent rum I've ever had is St James, so what do I know, eh.

If the rum is good enough that it tastes good over ice, might I point out that BevMo sells Cruzan brand plain old rum for $10 a bottle, and their $15 Blackstrap rum is superb with cola, coffee, ginger ale, etc.

why waste contraband?
