So Ahnuld not only has hired Pete Wilson as his campaign co-chairman, but now has also hired a bunch of strategists who were in charge of a few schemes where Chuck Quackenbush took money from insurance firms for his own political gain. Schwarzenegger as political maverick? Yeah, fuckin' right.

The horror! The metaphors!

Does everyone in California speak in tortured metaphors now?

"This is yet another sad and pathetic attempt by the Democrats to throw lawn chairs in front of the freight train that is the Schwarzenegger campaign," spokesman Sean Walsh said of the Quackenbush issue.

Lawn chairs?

"The folks who advised Mr. Quackenbush to enter into a scheme that ultimately led to his resignation as a constitutional officer would not be the people that I would want to surround myself with if I was seeking a state constitutional office," said Keeley. "That would be especially true if I was trying to make the case I was going to be a new broom to sweep the capital clean."

And if you were going to be a lawn-chair-crushing freight train? What then?

"Right now the entire state is up in arms looking for a cartoon hero to catapult into Sacramento and knock everyone's head together and clean the place up," he said.

Didn't Underdog do that in that one episode? Or maybe I'm thinking of the Powerpuff Girls.

If people are going to use weird metaphors when talking about Arnold's campaign, I think the imagery should at least come from his movies. Like, This is yet another sad and pathetic attempt by the Democrats to shoot arrows made out of snakes at the grotesquely muscled torso that is the Schwarzenegger campaign.

yay politics!

yep, pete wilson and ex-quacknebush cronies are arnold's advisors. note that arnold scoffs at the negative comments about his choice of strategists because the ex-quackenbush aides won't be making "policy" decisions, but "campaign" decisions. but isn't that what they got in trouble for when they were on the quackenbush team?

meanwhile, not to be outdone, gray davis is getting advice from bill clinton. since davis has a reputation as a plodding unimaginative bureaucrat, this might not be as bad an idea as it sounds.

I'm disappointed that father guido sarducci didn't file his paperwork on time (he got the signatures, though.) also, the richard simmons who is running is not who you think it is. nor is michael jackson. or bob dole or edward kennedy.

I know they're not who you think i think they are, pal. Neither is Todd Lewis. I'm just funnin', yeah?

I'm not sure what Bill can tell Gray. Maybe he's trying to coach him on how to maintain his dignity. Yeah, that's it.

So far, my choices are Georgy, Cruz Bustamante, and Gary Coleman.

I'd vote for Georgy if she agreed to marry me. otherwise, I'm going with Arianna, although Abner Zurd is certainly tempting.

Bustamente tried to argue that if Davis is recalled, he should automatically become governor, so I'm not going to give him the time of day.

and Gary Coleman said "there's no way I'm going to win" and I don't want to make him a liar.

I consider Arianna a less serious candidate than Gary Coleman. She's basically your average Usenet poster, plus millions of dollars.

Wow, that's the best explanation of Arianna Huffington I think I've ever heard. And of course now I'm thinking, all this election was really lacking was at least one person who ever won KotM.
