I don't care if you think comics are stupid or just for kids or for perverts.  You have to pick up warren_ellis's and ben_templesmith's "Fell".  It's $1.99 an issue.  Each one is a self-contained story.  The first issue (which has been reprinted an amazing four times, if i recall correctly) is available online in its entirety.  It's x good, where x stands for a significant iteration of "really".

He's especially FANTASTIC when he works with Steve Niles. (I'm not a horror fan, but I'll read anything that either of them makes.)

'twas really good, as the point would be to actually buy it to avoid squinting. But maybe this guy (http://www.willard-wigan.com) was fine with it...
