Who wants to see me holding onto a very large phallic object?  Also, note new almost-circle beard.  I have been told i look "dangerous" and "like a badass".

Kim hit the road to Eugene, OR, this morning, to interview a professor at UofO, as well as visit her friend Judy.  I will be all by my lonesome self until Friday night.

Little Miss Sunshine is a very funny movie.  At its core, the movie is an indictment of child beauty pageants.  I suspect the script sprang from a discussion of how disgusting they are, and really, they might as well make them do something truly vile, because what's the difference?  Throw in a dysfunctional family (and, really, would any normal family want their seven-year-old in a goddamn beauty pageant?), a temperamental automobile, and a road trip.  Some minor plot points are a little contrived, but they don't really get in the way of the story.

I found it amusing seeing it around the time that guy claimed to kill washerface in Colorado. Good timing on that!

I thought the movie was very ... cute. It's probably the best movie I've seen in the theaters this year, not that saying that means much in these trying times.

Well, worth noting that they weren't dysfunctional in the usual child-in-a-beauty-pageant fashion, but dysfunctional in an entirely different fashion. I thought the, erm, hospital episode was a little too wacky for the movie, but it paid off in the end. The issue with the car, though, was just right.

No matter how I try to shorten my personality "bars," I can't get 'em short enough to post. I'm neurotic, disagreeable (trust no one!), and fabulously open to new experiences. Alone, apparently . . .
