I don't mean this flippantly, but maybe you would consider going to a Green Party (http://www.gp.org/) meeting. Here in Pennsylvania, our Democrat options tend to be anti-choice (Casey) and pro-death-penalty (Governor Rendell and the current attorney general), so the Green Party tends to meet the needs of the Democrats who have been left behind by Democratic Party leaders who are trying to woo liberal Republicans away from the Religious Right Republicans.
