The concept of "know your enemy." It's marginally easier to deal with people who get their "news" spoonfed from talk-radio sources if you're familiar with what exactly it is they've been spoonfed in a given week.
On a good day, it's actually got humor value; I can drive along and let loose a few Frankenesque "LLLLLLLLLLLIAR!" chants in time with the bullshit on the radio. Bob Grant on WOR is even better for this, as he's (a) not QUITE as 110%-pro-Bush (though he's 120% as racist) as most of the others and (b) gets delightfully agitated when callers aren't drinking the Kool-Aid.
The flip side is that drive-time radio in Philly is simply nonexistent. Music radio in the burbs doesn't exist, as the college radio stations have a range of fifteen feet, and even the sports-talk station has Howard Eskin as their drive-time guy (the swarmiest prick on earth).
Once in a while, Grant will be on vacation and they'll have a guy named Lionel fill in. Lionel is somewhat of an iconoclast and tends to put forth LIBERAL opinions on a regular basis, so it's a rare treat when he gets going. The callers' audible confusion at hearing something different is charming.
