My phone rang.  My boss said, "I want the latest beta deployed.  And i want it done yesterday."

I groaned.  "Boss, you know i hate wormhole travel.  Remember what happened last time?  There was a massive bug and we had to send the developers two weeks ago—"

"Look, i don't pay you for backtalk, and i don't pay you for paradoxes.  Do the job or i'll outsource it to Proxima.  The Proximans don't seem to share your scruples regarding the laws of physics."

I'll board the shuttle to the local wormhole in 30 minutes.  My bag has two things: my laptop and a gun.  With any luck, i'll manage to kill my boss and come back to today and not have to do this stupid job in the first place.

Kim came home from her pottery workshop.  She said that the guy who was going to talk about raku fell ill, so they shipped in a replacement, except he wasn't a raku expert.

"So what was his specialty?" i asked.

"Golems," she replied.  She said she actually shaped a tiny golem, about a foot tall.  I pointed out that it was completely impractical, because the chem would have to be written on a grain of rice.

"Guess who's running the workshop tomorrow," she replied with a grin.
