Dundracon XXIX is over.  I got into both of my first choice games on Saturday and Sunday, which left me very stoked, especially after hearing many people complain about not getting into ANY of their first, second, or third choice games.  I saw [livejournal.com profile] deirdremoon, [livejournal.com profile] purchasemonkey, [livejournal.com profile] anotherdave, [livejournal.com profile] crisper, [livejournal.com profile] amywithani, [livejournal.com profile] palecur, and finally met [livejournal.com profile] urbeatle, with whom i only chatted for a minute when he came to my game, and another couple of minutes as his game was getting started and i was on my way out (dude, you need a new icon to show off the new glasses).  Next year, i am running a game for sure (The Boy is thinking about it, too).  Speaking of The Boy, he got a room at a nearby Residence Inn and shared it with three buddies.  They had a blast, although David didn't get into the games he wanted on Sunday.

Saturday's game was Part Two of last year's massacre, and things went much better this time around.  My barbarian/frenzied berserker (Bruce provided the characters this time around, as he felt that one of the characters that played last year really was one of the things that messed us up... long, highly nerdy story, i'll go into it if you comment) provided the killing stroke for both bosses, and thus avenged good ol' Hôlg (his berserker frenzy also led him to try to turn a couple of fellow giant-killers into sashimi, unfortunately, but we managed to make it through without losing anyone to an "own goal").  Toby and Stephanie were there again, and both made it into the game (Toby made it on stand-by).  They're only 17, but they are really together and un-teenagerly (and have been together for over 4 years!).

On Sunday, our game was run by a young lady from Eureka named Kayla.  She seemed overly concerned with making sure people's character's names were gender-appropriate to the races (which were her own concoction) to which they belonged, and she had a rule that any die roll that bounced off any object other than the tabletop needed to be re-rolled.  Ummm, OK.  The game started off a bit slow but ended with a definite and exciting bang.

Those of you who don't follow [livejournal.com profile] syn_promo but do follow A Miracle of Science will probably be glad to find out that it has been arsissified, and may now be found on LJ as [livejournal.com profile] miracle_science.

"Can you hear me now?"  Unsuspecting cellphone users may find themselves saying that more often now that cellphone jammers — illegal gizmos that interfere with signals and cut off reception — are selling like hotcakes on the streets of New York.

A rather poor picture of [livejournal.com profile] anotherdave (second from the right) holding court at an open gaming table.  Damn flash went off and messed up the aperture.

That looks like the love child of a Grey alien and Beavis, not an Evil Genius.

Someone clearly had an undeniable need to play.
