dinner tonight
Nov. 3rd, 2003 12:00 amKim and i had a belated birthday dinner at Mio Vicino in Santa Clara (i'd link but it seems their domain was stolen by a German squatter); instead of my usual, the shellfish pasta, i went for the pork chop, which was new on their menu. It was covered in green onions, golden raisins, and pine nuts. Best. Dish. Ever. Kim had minestrone and chicken parmigiana, which were both excellent, and we brought along a bottle of Wild Horse 1998 Négrette, which was superb on its own and was equally good accompanying the food. It has a slight bit of pepper, a certain tartness, a good amount of fruit and minor tannins. We sent a glass to the chef to thank him for the excellent meal.
