I heard a story about Alameda de las Pulgas getting its name once. But I don't have a good source for it.

According to the story, there were two roads at the time: El Camino Real, and Alameda de las Pulgas. El Camino Real was for the Spanish missionaries. Alameda de las Pulgas was for the Indians (Ohlone and Miwok, I guess). "Pulgas" was an intentionally ugly term: it was a racial slur.

So what if Soda broke up a long time ago? So did Led Zeppelin. The classics endure.

Natalia Oreiro sounds like a Shakira/Paulina Rubio clone. Not what i'd call my kind of music.

but have you seen the music video for 'tu veneno'?

mild bit of amusement from the world cup: natalia was the madrina for the uruguayan national team, and before a Uruguay-Korea friendly, as the Uruguayans were lined up to walk out into the field, she gave each of them a good luck kiss. one of the korean players snuck into the line and got kissed by natalia, too.
