don't eat your vegetables - wear them!

Last Saturday, Kim and i went with [livejournal.com profile] allannah and her family to see Cirque du Soleil's Kooza (for some reason, our show didn't feature the unicyclist or the acrobats on stilts), which was a marvelous show, more circus-y and less plot-driven than other CdS shows, and absolutely fun, despite being also more clown-heavy than other shows.  After the show, we had a fabulous and decadent meal at The Melting Pot.  After the meal, there was postcard spam on the car, advertising some to-do; nothing noteworthy, except for the "Dress Code Lavish:"

NO Sports Wear, Jeans or Tennis Shoes. You Must Have on a Collard Shirt!

Brassica fashion is edgy, man.

Be careful not to turnip that collard shirt, and if you hold your date's hand across the table, avoid the candle or your cuff will get chard. Also your jewelry must have lots of carrots.

"Postcard spam"? I remember when those were called flyers, son. Now get off my lawn.

It was printed on cardstock, not paper, so it's not really a flyer.

You say po-tah-toe, I say you talk funny.

Fold it right and it will be.

"clown-heavy." There's an underutilized descriptor.

Are they serving collared greens?

Wait, are collard shirts what's in style? Now what am I going to do with all this damn chard?
