It looks like someone put an unsourced claim that Rocky Road was "second only to vanilla in popularity in the United States", then someone put in a 'reference needed' tag, then someone else found a reference showing that it was tenth and added the more sarcastic version. Right now the article says it was 'recently ranked tenth in the United States'. Good old Wikipedia!
