use Your::Head;

Tom Fawcett has created a perl script that automates the most common complaints about orkut. It demonstrates the average amount of thought that goes into the bulk of these complaints.

OK, I saw his profile, and I thought, wow, he looks like a cool guy. Now I'm all like, wurrrrrrrr.

The fact that one can come up with a complaint without having to think too hard, doesn't necessarily mean that the complaint is illegitimate. Sometimes it can mean just the opposite.

All complaints are illegitimate, bastard children of a wandering mind and a diseased world.

More seriously, a complaint should be followed by some thought regarding a solution. Most of the stuff out there lacks this.

My complaints about Mozilla/Thunderbird

[identity profile] vardissakheli.livejournal.com 2004-02-03 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
--for instance--are way too numerous to allow time for much thought regarding solutions. Sometimes the solution is just, "Somebody should, like, actually DESIGN this thing."

OTOH, I haven't seen much I don't like about Orkut. One page was unfriendly to NS4 because of a trivial typo (incomplete TABLE end-tag), and I sent a feedback message about that--with the specific solution, of course.

I don't have complaints about orkut; i just don't understand it very well yet. Plus some of the blanks I filled out don't seem to show up except when I am editing my profile, not that it matters. I need to spend a block of time there some time and figure out how it's supposed to be used. I did see rone's better half is tuwanda, at least that's what I think I learned looking over there. I may end up not orkut material but I'll check it out better sometime soon.

Funny!

BTW, I never got an invite from you. Unless it wasn't an oversight, I'd still like to get one. :)

Not only did i invite you, but i re-invited you a little while ago. I suspect your spam filter has tossed the invitation away.

I never got an invite either. Assuming you had invited me, what would the 'from' field be, so i can hypothetically seive the spambin?

Just invited myself to see... it took a while to get to my mailbox, but it showed up as "From: Ron Echeverri <orkut@ennui.org>". I sent it to ajd@cloudiness.
