more comedy from fox news

A recent episode of The Simpsons mocked Fox News; Rupert Murdoch sprang into action and tried to sue himself. You couldn't pay for this quality of entertainment.

Having read this in a few places, including The Guardian, I'm not so sure about this story. For one, it appears that Murdoch was the sanity check on it, if it's true, rather than the instigator. Of course, you're highly unlikely to be suggesting that ol' Rupert instigated the alleged suit anyway. The larger point, though, seems to be that Fox News is denying the whole thing. And we all know that Fox News is a truthful, accurate and honest source, right?

This confuses me so, especially after the Superbowl special where they mocked Murdoch

Matt Groening on NPR.

Groening actually did claim as much, and the quotes are accurate; he was interviewed on NPR/WHYY's "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross (who recently took a hit from NPR's own ombudsman for her abnormally hostile interview with Bill O'Reilly a few weeks ago, wherein O'Reilly endured 45 minutes before walking out of the studio).
