Looks like the root hard drive on my server gave up the ghost while i'm in Vegas and 48 hours away from being able to deal with it.  I just didn't have enough time to finish the new box before i left.  Oh, well, at least this lends some finality to the whole goddamned mess.

I must thank [livejournal.com profile] erikred for being my volunteer monitoring monkey, as well as [livejournal.com profile] elmuchacho for being my hands and eyes.

My home router was like that - it only ever crashed when I wasn't at home, and trying to ssh into my home server to read my email.

I talked Vicki through resetting it more than once. It was much easier when I switched from a Linux based one to commercial ones that she could just power cycle.

Rone, I emailed you at ennui dot org and it bounced with a warning. Where should I email you?

Warnings are harmless. But try again tomorrow.
