(As opposed to prehaste?  It's an odd word.)

(Oh, post as in mail.  Got it.)

Some time ago, we moved out of our cage at Savvis (what used to be known as Exodus's building SC-5).  In the area next to us (which is where i gashed my leg some time ago), there was, inexplicably, a roll of toilet paper.

I don't know if there's any connection to the sign in the men's bathroom pictured below.

In my Russia pix to be uploaded someday, there is: "Please Do Not Put Toilet Paper In The Toilet". The Hermitage, Saint Petersburg, the most celebrated museum in Russia.

In the Museum Of The Revolution (Soviet-Kitch-a-go-go) there was one toilet paper dispenser outside the stalls. Either it was really starved for funds or someone was having their ironic fun. The place looked like the former.

In Guatemala, at least in the tourist version, it was standard to put your TP in a trashcan instead of the toilet, and there were frequently signs to that effect (and explanations to expect this in the Lonely Planet, etc.).

In Brazil, while out on a floating hotel boat thing, we had to put our TP in the trash, too. The staff would clean the trash cans out a couple times a day. I guess their septic system wouldn't handle the paper properly or something.

Our previous super-sysad contractor refused to go to our colo at Hurricane in Fremont. I went later and realized why: you have to go back three locked doors to find the head, and so must be escorted back. It's like there's a hall monitor. Who rides a scooter because the halls are so long.

It does seem to me that as auto-flushing plumbing becomes more common, so does neglecting to flush non-auto-flushing plumbing. Which is nothing you wouldn't expect if you thought about it. And also provides positive feedback to drive sales of auto-flushing plumbing. Clever bastards.
