The official press release crossed the wire just a few minutes ago announcing our intent to close as planned on December 3, 2005.

Integration teams - buckle up! It's gonna be a challenging next week or so, but I know that everyone is ready and eager to get on with it.

[CFO]

I have two things to say: 1) "as planned", my ass; 2) "next week or so" is the biggest understatement of the year.

I'd like to find just one company where the top execs, especially the CFO, aren't totally out-of-touch asshats.

Actually, she's really quite good in general. I think the whole limbo bullshit even has her a little addled.

Is that

"close" as in close a site, close a deal, or close a new release?

The second.

Also, 3) it should be "Buckle down." Buckle up is the getting-into-the-car-with-kids ritual; buckle down is the motivational phrase.

Indeed. Perhaps she expects it'll be a wild ride more than we'll have to get sweaty and bloody.

I, for one, welcome your new Adobe overlords.

You're the only one. Jerk.

Gosh, I thought acquisitions of large companies by larger companies were always just plain beneficial for all concerned! :) Doesn't this mean a whopping pay raise and some low-priced Adobe stock, not to mention 50 houris upon your death?

I have no expectation, or even a hope, of a pay raise. No ADBE stock is forthcoming except only in that my MACR shares and options will be converted through the black arts of finance into ADBE shares and options; after that, i imagine i'll enroll in ADBE's ESPP.

As for the houris upon my death, well, i want to see it in writing first.
