I hope you named one of them "Lawrence".

If I have a shellfish allergy... can I eat this or not? It's a snail... that eats clams...

Inquiring intestines want to know!

Well, it has a shell, so it probably qualifies as shellfish. A casual Googling suggests that it's probably not as bad as other stuff. But you should consult your doctor first.

Oh, I know. Just... seeing it makes me long for my shellfish-eating days.

*sniff*

What sort of odor did this have? I was served some kind of sea snail many years ago at a resort in Japan and passed because it smelled truly awful.

Kinda like grilled shrimp. It was certainly not offensive to the nose (you know how damn picky i am with my food).

[identity profile] racerxmachina.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm curious to know how it tastes. Is it sweet, like scallops, or is it kind of fishy-gamy, like oysters?

[identity profile] ronebofh.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither. As above, it somewhat resembled shrimp in smell, taste, and texture, except stronger (beefier?), and a denser mouth-feel.
