[livejournal.com profile] tongodeon is still losing the bet.  If you really want to know what the person is blathering about, i translated it for [livejournal.com profile] mezdeathhead, who is completely responsible for bringing this to my attention.

I refuse to be held responsible for this travesty.

Whoa. That is the most compelling evidence I've seen for him losing the bet. I mean, how much more "mainstream" can you get? Supermodels?!
(I mean, it's not my mainstream, but they are supposed to be trendsetters, I suppose...)

Verbatim from the text of the bet: "fashion designers appropriating Furry designs"

The masks aren't what the fashion designers are selling, and the clothes themselves aren't furry. Also, fashion designers are hardly mainstream -- unless most women wear a dozen pairs of size zero bell bottoms simultaneously (they keep coming back in style, but only went out of style once, so they accumulate at a rate of about one additional layer for every two years) and a top that only covers one tit. Of course, the fashion designers only started selling those images a few decades ago, and the ship of mainstream fashion is notoriously slow to turn, so maybe we'll start seeing these things on the street next fall.

In sum, I like to argue.

Those have got to be the ugliest clothes I've seen in a long time.
