robert fripp - the gates of paradise

My final music acquisition in this batch is another album of Soundscapes from Unca Bobby.  It is more organized than his others; two suites, "The Outer Darkness" and "The Gates of Paradise" are split in two sections which are ordered alternately.  The first section of TOD has ten parts and each is distinctively and evocatively named ("The Outer Darkness", "Wailing II", "Black Light").  This is followed by the first section of TGoP, which contains two parts.  The second section of TOD is just one ten-minute part, "In Fear and Trembling of the Lord", and if you've ever heard Fripp's Soundscapes, you can pretty well imagine what this sounds like.  The second section of TGoP (another two-parter) closes out the album in a pleasant and enjoyable manner.  A Blessing of Tears is still my favorite of his and the one Soundscapes album i'd recommend to anyone.
