Blasters tied Gang Green 5-5 in a tense and fun, if somewhat rough, game. They scored their first goal on their first attack, on a defensive breakdown. The second came soon after that, when i was caught looking to the open person on the right wing; by the time i looked back, the ball was already halfway to the goal. We came back to tie, went ahead, and then they tied.

I got the assist on our fourth goal; i came out of the box to pick up a loose ball and nobody pressured me. I saw our captain breaking upfield, and i saw a big space by the top of their box, so i chipped the ball into it. He zipped in, split two defenders, and tapped the ball past the goalie. They tied us again, we went up again on a really cheap goal where our attacker just sorta heeled it past the goalie (who should've been down, since he had a defender boxing our guy against the wall). Then, on a breakaway, this girl who scored goals #2 and #3 sized me up and shot. I had a bead on the ball... and then it went right through my hands. There's a term in baseball that's used to describe a pitch, "explosive late movement". That's what it felt like. If i'd come up with my hands together... grrr. And, no, i didn't underestimate her because she was a GRIL.
