"Hustle and Bustle": In Victorian England, Lord Exeter solicits a male prostitute.  They arrive at the lord's mansion; as they enter the bedroom, an apparition bursts through the window and attacks them.  It runs Exeter through with its claws, but it is suddenly beaten off by Lady Exeter, who was awakened from her sleep by the clamor.  She manages to unmask the assailer... except for a severe burn on her cheek, she is the living image of Queen Victoria!  Having been unmasked, the monster flees the room.

Now it is up to the wife and lover of Lord Exeter to work together to determine the truth: Who was the attacker?  Why did she kill Lord Exeter?  Who else is at risk?

Shades of Anno Dracula, by Kim Newman. Well, in terms of vampiric Queen Vic, anyway (although she doesn't do much in his novel).

I assure you that i am way, way above using vampires in my fiction.

So, um, where do you use vampires?

In fact, i'm planning on using one at some point in my D&D game (which i'm FINALLY going to run, gods willing, tomorrow). It's going to be a big iconoclastic campaign... not exactly a d20 Modern campaign, but it'll have a certain modern feel. Imagine Discworld with a Vlad-era Dragaera grisliness.

i definitely like the idea. i have many questions about details already.

Sadly, i have none. Really, the plot summary's just a riff on the title. I'm not certain if this kind of story would work for me... it almost feels like i'm ripping Alan Moore off.

Very nice... piques my interest!
