shaolin soccer

Very, very silly. Very funny. Not high cinema, but quite entertaining all the same. Go see it if it's playing near you, or rent it from Netflix.

Is it as good as Bulletproof Monk?

I've not seen it, although my stepson thought it was wretchedly bad. Then again, he thought Shaolin Soccer was too cheesy for him. It doesn't have Stifler, so that's a plus.

It is many times better than Bulletproof Monk. It is many times better than Citizen Kane. It could well be the greatest film ever made.

Oh, my god!@#$ I got it at Lost Weekend once and couldnt watch it all the way through, but damn that shit was good. I especially liked the subtlety with the name of the other team: Evil Team. You cant beat that.

Excellent! Now when I try to talk my nephew into seeing it with me, I can tell him it came recommended.

Does it matter if I watch the theatrical release (dubbed) or the DVD version (subtitled)? Should I watch both? Which one first?

I saw it subbed in the theater, although many signs were digitally altered to be in English. I wasn't too crazy about that.
