o jogo bonito

For my money, the team that's played the prettiest soccer this World Cup is Senegal. No contest. The energy of the Irish is admirable, but the Senegalese have that flavor, that joy that was brought to the forefront by the Brazil teams of Pelé, and also the 1982 & 1986 teams. If their individual talent were higher amongst all their starters, they would definitely be a new-millennium, African sort of Brazil.

augh!

So we ended up babysitting my two nephews. So the elder one commandeers the TV to watch cartoons and I am informed by my parents that on pain of death I am supposed to leave him alone. So I followed the Senegal-Sweden game through The Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk)'s minute-by-minute summary. Now how ridiculous is that?

Another TV might have come in handy... if i were you, i'd've taken the nephews to the nearest Circuit City analogue and bought the cheapest TV there.

I made it clear to my kids that the TV was mine throughout June. No problems so far except for some minor whining.
