what strange device could have caused this?

a mark on my abdomen shaped like a soccer ball's seam

I showered after a soccer game and noticed a peculiar mark on my torso.  It had a familiar shape, almost like...

The grey mark on the right is a piece of pencil lead i jabbed into myself in 3rd grade; for some damn fool reason, i went out to recess clutching a freshly sharpened pencil, and tripped.

I could leave that mark with my fingernails, but you'd certainly remember getting it.

That mark is the mark of a truly geodesic man.

...is obviously an alien implant. Don't try to fool us.

Okay, I think I need to clarify the terms of this question.

I'm guessing I'm not supposed to reply '...almost like the stitching on a soccer ball' here, am I?

Dude...

i went out to recess clutching a freshly sharpened pencil, and tripped.

I did exactly the same thing in 3rd grade, but I stabbed myself in the side of my head. Mark's still there.

Have you been playing with

I have a similar, smaller, gray mark on my left bicep, near the shoulder.

In high school, my best friend and I both took architecture classes. We had drafting pencils, and these pointing devices that you used to make a fine point on them. Basically conical sanding surfaces and a rotating top - you stuck the pencil in a hole and moved it around and it sanded the tip to a nice point for fine work. This would leave a lot of carbon powder on the pencil though.

Well, my friend's locker was near mine, and apparently he'd just pointed a pencil and had it in his hand. He forgot it was there, and he walked up to me and gave me a playful punch on the shoulder.

Spearing me with the pencil, right through my shirt.

The shirt took most of the 'soot', but I got enough in the wound to make a faint little tattoo.

Chicken wire? Feynmann diagram? It's hard to tell how big it is without something of known size in the picture.

That would make a neat scar.

It's just the aftereffects of dry skin. The skin contracts more or less uniformly as it loses moisture, leaving a hexagonal pattern of cracks. Apparently enough time has passed since this occurred that the fissures have sealed over with new red skin. If you were scientifically minded, you could figure these things out for yourself.
