I think there's been a recent downturn in blogging, as least among the blogs that I read. But I think I share some of your sentiments about what and who by own blog is about. On one hand, it's all about me. I try to write about things that I want to write about--bitter complaints, rants, successes, and general cultural ephemera.
On the other hand, I like knowing that people read my blog and would like to retain (and sometimes expand) the small group of readers that I have. I've tried to keep private (handwritten) journals in the past, and they've always fizzled out after a month or two.
So, as a kind of weak compromise, I usually settle for posting pictures or links when I don't really feel like writing much just to keep the whole endeavor afloat.
Anyhow, enough pontificating. I hope you do post your wine reviews because I'd like to read them. (I should probably do the same--'ve been going Southern Rhone crazy this summer--but I haven't found a way to write about wine that doesn't sound either pretentious or simplistic.)
