Holy shit, we found the guy who still _pays_ for music.
(Haw haw. I support my local record store, too, so that I'm not left with a choice between WalMart and FYE.)
Haven't bought nearly as much, but I rarely do. I usually pick a couple of artists at a time to obsess over, and I've added a few lately:
* Toots and the Maytals, The Very Best Of Toots and the Maytals: Pressure Drop was the best song on the GTA: San Andreas soundtrack, and I've always had a weakness for reggae and ska. Good stuff, but I probably shouldn't start with a Greatest Hits disc, because it makes it hard to buy albums after that without duplicating material. Then again, 90% of their albums on the rack _were_ greatest hits compilations.
* Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, pretty much their entire career. Their stuff pops up all the time on a private ShoutCast station I listen to, reminding me just how great these guys really are and making me want to add to my collection. Victor Wooten may be the best bassist on the planet.
* Streetlight Manifesto, Everything Goes Numb, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, A Call to Arms, and Catch-22, Keasbey Nights: It's 2005. How in the HELL did it take this long for me to discover that Tomas Kalnoky is a goddamned genius?
