In the "bad things happen in threes" department:

Finagle's Law: I signed up last week for a Sun course this week. On Monday, the ERP database box sensed the opportunity and collapsed into a heap.
Plain ol' jinx: On Saturday, i finally picked up a knee pad to wear on my left knee so that i would quit smashing it every game against the turf. Then e-mail rolls in on Monday from the team captain: we won't be assembling to play next session. Well, crap. Now i must find a new team.
Sympathetic magic: a week or two ago, i was clearing out some old papers and came across the wedding invitation for a couple of friends, which i tossed out with the rest. Today i was blindsided by the announcement that they were separating.

Maybe i can relax now.... as i ice my maimed left hand.
